Career History

  • • Oversaw a team of five analysts, being responsible for sample analysis and reporting, and helping maintain turnaround times during a period in which sample intake increased by 63 % over 6 months.

    • Created, validated, and updated analytical methods for origin and production system tests using different combinations of analytical and statistical techniques.

    • Prepared, reviewed, and actioned findings from quarterly QC reports.

    • Made writing and editorial contributions to international guidance documents on forensic analysis through the FIRMS Network.

    • Independently performed operation and maintenance (routine and corrective) of sample preparation systems and analysers for IRMS (combustion, pyrolysis, and headspace).

    • Processed, analysed, and reported sample data within tight turnaround times.

    • Prepared certificates of analysis for clients.

    • Monitored quality control data, including managing proficiency testing, to implement improvements which reduced the rate of sample batch failures by 4 % while increasing throughput on instruments within 3 months.

    • Responsible for performing sample intake and recording on the laboratory information management system of up to 100 new samples daily before distributing them to the relevant departments and subcontractors.

    • Performed sample processing and preparation for analysis.
