Career History
-
• Oversaw a team of five analysts, being responsible for sample analysis and reporting, and helping maintain turnaround times during a period in which sample intake increased by 63 % over 6 months.
• Created, validated, and updated analytical methods for origin and production system tests using different combinations of analytical and statistical techniques.
• Prepared, reviewed, and actioned findings from quarterly QC reports.
• Made writing and editorial contributions to international guidance documents on forensic analysis through the FIRMS Network.
• Managed health and safety on site by conducting COSHH risk assessments and implementing monthly refresher training for laboratory staff which reduced the accident rate by 13 % in 12 months. As a result I was made Health & Safety Lead for the site in November 2024.

Processed, analysed, and reported sample data within tight turnaround times.
Prepared certificates of analysis for clients.
Monitored quality control data, including managing proficiency testing, to implement improvements which reduced the rate of sample batch failures by 4 % while increasing throughput on instruments within 3 months.
-
